February 2, 2024

Hey My Friday Follies Friends,

I’m so excited.  It’s February 2nd, and I can hardly wait to hear about your resolutions, success, or whatever you want to share about them.  I told you that I would tell you about mine, so I decided to “cut way back on sugar.”  I had already cut down a little, but I wanted to see if I could just eliminate some things like soft drinks and major sugar stuff like candy mainly.  So I seriously did!  I have not had a single soft drink in the whole month of January.  My favorite “doctor” is Dr. Pepper, and I also gave up my occasional Ginger Ale, Sprite, even lemonade.  When I went to a restaurant, I didn’t order dessert either so I saved money too.  I only had 3 pieces of candy during my 31 day “fast,” so I did cut way back.  My diet is healthy otherwise, but I had gotten lazy about it and not as disciplined.  I try to stick to my belief that we need to eat at least 70% fresh fruits and veggies because I think live foods would help us to maintain life better.  My nurse friend told me after I had covid that I should eat 2 eggs a day also, so I’ve done that faithfully.  And the protein – well, it’s mostly how do you like your chicken?  I haven’t eaten red meat in years.  I also eat fish at least once a week.

Okay.  It’s your turn.  How did you do?  What helped you stay disciplined?  Has it made a difference about the way you feel about yourself?  Did the success cause you to gain respect for yourself?  One thing that helped me was that I had told you I would let you know how I did and if I failed how bad I would feel telling you afterwards.  So that thought process helped me to stay strong.

We’re putting an extra month in the calendar (Jan 2025) because of our delay.  It’s been one little glitchy time-consuming thing after another, but we think you’re really gonna’ love it.  I think we can tie every loose end together by tomorrow and let you know something.  Thanks for your patience.  We just want it to be so cool in every way.

I hope you’re all doing great and treating yourselves well.
Love,
Donna
