To update you on what’s happening here, I had the best time talking to my friend Charlie Mattos at WSM on Tuesday and his engineer David Reed. Charlie is such a special guy, and I appreciate his confidence in my new record, “Small Town Hillbilly Good-Time Saturday Night,” and I was excited that he was playing it! He said “It’s the perfect summertime song!” Hot dog! To have his approval of it is so important to me.
And it seems Charlie’s not the only one that thinks “Small Town” is perfect for summer fun. In CONSUMER REPORTS review of the “7 Best Waterproof Wireless Outdoor Speakers, Tested by Our Fun-Loving Experts,” they included “The Ultimate Summer Song List” and “Small Town Hillbilly Good-Time Saturday Night” was in their top 15 songs and the only country song. I am so excited to be included with artists like Billy Joel, Bruce Hornsby, Harry Styles, Don Henley and others. I hope that all of you who were interested were able to access the interview I did with Dan from WMCT in Mountain City, TN. It was great to talk with him. We discussed a lot about nutrition and the spirit, mind, and body as well as “Small Town,“ which they are playing. Yeah! Dan’s dad, Jim, has been following my career for a while, and I want to say hello to him, too!
Also, happy Memorial Day to all the families dealing with memories of their loved ones lost in service to our country. God bless you all and I’m so sorry for your loss.
I can’t wait to see all of you who come to the 12th Annual Country With Heart event benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It’s on June 6th at the Nashville Nightlife Theatre, 2416 Music Valley Drive, Nashville, TN. I’ll be there doing a Meet & Greet, so come on out and say hello. It should be fun.
