Hey My Favorite People…Time for Friday Follies! I hope all of you are happy and healthy, being your best and loving on purpose. We’re getting good remarks about the “Heart Hugs,” so I’ll answer a couple of the questions:
1. I love your “Heart Hugs” series, especially your second one, “Love on Purpose.” I look at it every morning before I walk out the door. It reminds me to try to show a little more love to those I run into that day. Where did this idea come from and is there a deeper meaning for you? – Joey
Thank you for your comments about the “Heart Hugs,” and we’re so glad you like them. First, I think we need suggestions sometimes if we’re trying to stay encouraged, and if we have something small and colorful and a short positive reminder, it gives the idea to our psyche. The “Love on Purpose” we did most recently was inspired most likely from my BIBLE reading every morning. I mean love is a big deal to God. He’s a God of love, so He loves us. We are admonished to love our neighbors as ourselves, to love even our enemies, and to love God with all our heart, mind, and soul. I think too many people may not even “feel” loved. But remember we have to allow ourselves to feel love and to believe what the Good Book says. The BIBLE tells us that when we become Christians that love is shed abroad in our hearts, and since it is a gift, it makes it easier for us to love. So I believe that we should make an extra effort to “cause” ourselves to love. It not only makes us feel better but also the person to whom we’re showing love. Even faith works by love. The 10 Commandments could even be narrowed down to one: Love. I mean if we love we’re not going to lie, steal, or kill – right? We show our love for others when we pray for them, treat them with kindness, and practice the golden rule. After I decided I liked the idea to put LOVE ON PURPOSE on a heart hug. I put it in the kitchen and in my studio. I think we need all the help we can get to affect our mood in a positive way.
2. Thank you for creating the “Be Your Best” calendar/journal and inspirational “Heart Hugs.” Your words always seem to touch my heart and I am encouraged. You spend so much time inspiring us, but what uplifts and inspires you? – Bobby Rae
BE YOUR BEST…YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH came from a belief I have that is similar to what I described above….I think a lot of people don’t think they’re worthy enough. I used to have a problem with that. But the BIBLE even describes Christians as “more than conquerers,” and I just said “more than enough” in the heart hug. I talk to God a lot; I tell Him how much I love Him and I thank Him for being so good to me. Praise is the highest type of prayer. I think God likes to be praised. Don’t we? Imagine how God feels. He created the universe and everything else! So we should praise Him.
What lifts me and inspires me? Well, YOU ALL do. I love you guys. You are so sweet and appreciative. Think of how important it is that we be good examples for each other. Each of us represents our race, gender, country, and profession, and you’re all beacons of light filling this world with hope and love.
3. And how’s the book coming? – Jane
Well, I hope I can finish it this weekend. I thought it was finished until I realized it wasn’t. Duh. Live and learn.
Until next week, be as special as you are. You’re way more than enough.
Love,
Donna
