Hey Everybody!  I hope you’re all doing fine and dandy and living your dreams.  Everything’s hot here in Music City.  The temperature was 100 degrees today.  Oh well, it’s just weather, and it will change, so everything’s gonna’ be all right.

I did an interview on Wednesday with Forrest Sanders.  He’s such a professional.  Expert, classy, amazing.  It seemed like we talked about everything, so I was curious to see the final decisions he would make with the story.  I love to work with people who are so smart and intuitive about their vision.  I mean it’s kinda’ like writing a song.  You love what you’re doing, but the smartest ones like Forrest just know how to get the best story, the right truth, and something that maybe could actually be helpful to the viewers in the audience.  I was deeply touched by how smart he was/is and felt honored to have been interviewed by him.  Ten years ago we did another interview together, and in between those years, he won 43 Emmys.  Imagine that!!  Holy Macaroni!  Man!  How cool!  I should have interviewed him! 

On another note, we’re trying to get the people who are becoming citizens of our country to receive a copy of the recitation of my “U.S. of A.” song that talks about the duties and responsibilities of becoming citizens of our great United States.  I want them to contribute and to enjoy being a part of our country and consider that it is a privilege to live here.  I think we all need to do our part in making our country the best place in the world to live.

P.S.  I hope you’re hearing “Small Town” wherever you are.  I’ve also been getting lots of questions about “The Utah Song” for some reason.  I listened to it a few times to answer your questions.  First, I obviously wrote it in Utah when I was working on my tv show – probably.  I guess I would say about the story in the song…I’ve always tried to write different songs in a different way so they wouldn’t be just the same old stuff, you know?  I wanted to challenge myself in coming up with something that made people think.  Sometimes I don’t think I even know why I write something a certain way.  I just don’t like boring or obvious.  I like songs that you can chew on and songs that make you want to hear them over and over to let them take you somewhere in your thoughts that maybe you haven’t been.

              Thanks for the questions.  I’d much rather answer real questions than just write something I think you might be interested in.
