Hey My Favorite People!  Happy Friday Follies and Happy Everything else!  You know what I say… “If you’re not happy you’re cheating yourself.”  Also, it’s not healthy to be unhappy.  Think about it.  And I trust that you’re also putting God first and honoring your body by being on a consistently nutritious diet with about 70% fresh fruits and veggies and healthy proteins like eggs and fish, chicken or turkey.  I also hope you’re weaning down the junk foods and drive-bys and drinking enough water since the body is about 80% water.

So it’s time to get down to business and answer a question I received recently.  “Hi, Donna, I’d love to hear your thoughts on formal grammar these days.  My grandson – he’s in 7th grade now – recently asked me why we even bother learning half the things they teach in school.  He said, ‘It’s not like back in the day when you went to school, Grandma.  We can look up anything online.  There are apps that do your homework and AI that writes your book reports and even resumes.  Nobody really cares who’s getting hired anymore.  It’s not like it was in the olden days.  School just feels like a waste of time.’  It just caught me off guard.  I’d love to know how you’d respond to that kind of thinking.  Do you think grammar still matters in a world full of shortcuts?”

Yes, we still need proper grammar no matter what field you’re going into.  In almost every occupation, you have to deal with computers, but what if the computer crashes?  You’ve got to rely on yourself and your knowledge.  Right?  If we don’t have the knowledge, then what?  And what if you don’t have a box to think out of?  You’ll be in deep “do.”

What if your doctor hadn’t studied thoroughly and couldn’t communicate correctly with his team and he cuts into your groin before you’ve been properly anesthetized?  Oh my.  What’s next? You better know how to communicate especially then!   Just saying.

Okey, Dokey, enough of my craziness…gotta’ get some more work done.  Take care of yourselves and keep your sunny side up.  Be the light the world needs now and always practice the golden rule: “Do unto others as you WISH they would do unto you,” not necessarily HOW they do unto you.  And if they do you wrong, pray for them.  Prayer works especially well for the one who does the praying.

Until next Friday, you know I love you,

Donna
