Hey Everybody!  Well, it’s Friday, you know, and you know what that means…It’s Friday Follies, so here we go!

How’s everybody?  I hope all things are going well for every one of you, that life is good and you’re healthy and happy.  I hope this week is being good to you and that today will be special and cool – just like all of you.  If there’s conflict and confusion in your life, I could encourage you to stay strong, but knowing you, you’re stronger than anything that tries to get you down.  But if something does, just dust yourself off and say, “Down is not where I’ll stay” and rise up!!!  Always keep God first place.  Without Him, you’re working with only 2/3 of your potential.

Thank you all for touching my life every Friday.  I look forward to our talks.  I’ve been thinking also that maybe we could have some “live” talks every now and then.  What do you say?  If you think that would be a good thing, let me know your ideas and we’ll make it happen!

On another note, you may have heard by now that I’ll be signing autographs at Cooter’s on Sunday, March 29, in Pigeon Forge from 11:00 am – 1 pm.  I can’t wait to see those of you who are planning to come.  If we can get our copies by then, we’ll have the new cd single of “Small Town Hillbilly Good-Time Saturday Night.”  And we’ll have a lot of other stuff too – our 44-page calendar with lots of pictures and writings, the novel HEARTACHES & MIND STORMS, and the LIVE!!! cd – just to name a few.

While I’m in Pigeon Forge, I’m also planning to attend The North American Country Music Association International Awards on Saturday night at the Country Tonite Theatre.  What a great organization that promotes the development of the Country and Gospel Music Industry in each state and country.  I was honored to be one of the first inductees into their Hall of Fame in 1998.

So bring your sweet selves to Pigeon Forge on Saturday at the awards show and Sunday at Cooter’s.  I can’t wait to see you and find out what’s going on in your lives.

April 18th is the big release of the new record, “Small Town Hillbilly Good-Time Saturday Night.”  You’re gonna love it!  I promise.  I also promise I love  you all.  I’ve got to go finish packing now for Pigeon Forge, and I hope to see you there.

Love,

Donna

P.S.  I thought I’d tell you a little story about my new song.  When I was inspired to write “Small Town Hillbilly Good-Time Saturday Night,” I smiled right away because it reminded me of the kind of songs that just make you feel good.  The kind you have to hear over and over, want to sing along to, dance to, and the kind that keep interrupting your thought patterns.  This song just makes you feel like it’s so good to be alive.

We had so much fun recording this one, and I think you’re going to hear that fun in the music.  Sometimes a song doesn’t try to change the world – it just tries to make you smile for a few minutes and get lost in the fun of it.  And I think we all need a few more songs like that.  I love Stan’s production, especially with the idea to make it sound like a party, and the musicians and singers were just perfect.

We’re getting close to April 18, and I’m really excited for you to hear it.

Until then, I hope you all have yourself a good-time Saturday night somewhere along the way!

P.S.S.  Here are some pictures of some of my friends who rescued me when the power went off for 2 days in Nashville.  My friend John Briggs, and his friends Joey and Sue Ann Hemphill and now my friends too let John and me stay in their beautiful house for 2 nights.  We treated them to a great coconut pie and butterscotch pie from Sylvan Park.  And other friends on my street helped me so much.  Wes Yoder, thank you for getting those trees off the driveway, and I’m glad you like coconut pie too.  I also want to thank the guys from the Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief again who helped tremendously and got the tress off the house.  They also gave me a beautiful blue Bible.  I am so fortunate, blessed and grateful for everyone’s help and kindness.  I asked God to bless you all mightily forever.
