Hey You Guys,

Well, it’s Friday Follies time, so here we go again into the 3rd week of January 2024.  If the weather where you are is anything like ours here in Nashville, the landscape is covered in breath-takingly beautiful white – the whitest snow you’ve ever seen.  I just love it!!!  We could probably re-name this a “snowdemic” because the alienation that accompanies it is similar to the way it was when we went through the pandemic.  Huh?

I look forward to February 2nd (the first Friday in February) to see how you’re doing with your resolutions (for those of you who made them and care to share).  But we’ve got almost two more weeks to manage the cravings and temptations of what habits we’re trying to change.

When we take responsibility for correcting some behavior, we learn a lot about ourselves and the challenge it is to control our physical attributes and sometimes deeply ingrained habits.  If the habits we make or break can control our destiny, it’s important to understand how we are contributing positively or negatively to our lives.  If we can improve our health by changing our diets, for example, we should inform ourselves and get serious about what we’re doing over and over that could be helping us or harming us and keep on doing what we think is good for us and change what we’re doing that is harmful.  It’s so easy just to do “whatever” and ignore trying to make changes that could help us to be healthier and happier.  The child in us doesn’t like being restricted maybe, or if a person hasn’t been very disciplined and may not have ever needed to be, well…you know…it isn’t always easy.

On another subject, when the weather gives us a reprieve from holding us hostage, we will get the calendar to the printer and let you know as soon as we know something.
