Hey Everybody and Happy Friday Follies!

I hope you’re all doing great in every way.  As for us, we’re back in Nashville from our trip to Pigeon Forge, and it was so great to see everyone on Saturday, March 28th, at the NACMAI Awards show and on Sunday at Cooter’s Museum for the autographing and meet and greet.  We had the best time and made a lot of new friends.  Everybody was so nice to us.

I was a little vague in last week’s Friday Follies about why I was gonna’ be there, and here’s why – that’s because it was a secret!  The people in the organization didn’t want the North America Country Music Association International CEO/Founder Ms. Peggy Franck to know that she was being inducted into the NACMAI Hall of Fame.  I was so honored to have been invited to be a part of this presentation, and Ms. Peggy was truly surprised.  This wonderful lady had a vision to start a worldwide association to bring entertainers together – to educate and provide opportunities to new artists and to recognize the legends who continue this great music..  She wanted to make sure that she covered all the related music genres like Country, Gospel, and Bluegrass.  She has devoted her life to NACMAI, and her influence and vision will continue through this magnificent organization.  It was fun getting together with industry folks and fans and visiting with some of the other artists like…Leona Williams, Con Hunley, the Malpass Brothers, Ken Mellons, Stevie Lee Woods, and Dallas Wayne.  I was also happy that I got to spend some time with my publicist Jennifer Herron and her mom and Jennifer’s husband singer/songwriter Bobby Marquez.

On Sunday, it was a trip down memory lane reliving my guest appearance on the Dukes of Hazzard.  So many wonderful people came out – I signed car hoods, car trunks, visors, lunch boxes, and so many other cool memorabilia items.  Another blessing was that my niece Marisa and her husband Bo drove in from Mt. Airy and were able to come to both events, and the fact that we had this time to be together made my little heart smile.  There’s nothing like family to make you feel at home.

Speaking of Mt. Airy, I was so delighted and fortunate to have lunch with my hometown mayor on Friday before we left Nashville. Mayor Jon Cawley was coming in town for a seminar just as we were leaving.  We had just enough time for lunch before heading to Pigeon Forge.  Perfect timing!  Thank you, Mr. Mayor!

Besides expressing my deep gratitude to Brenda and Linda for your valuable assistance on all the various projects I’m engaged in, including this one especially, I want to say thank you to Sheila, Curtis, and Amy Jo for your help and support at this particular event.  It was so nice to see you again.  Thank you Team Fargo!

Some of you may have heard about a sneak peek of my new single, “Small Town Hillbilly Good-Time Saturday Night” at the NACMAI Awards.  I was thrilled they played my song after my presentation to Peggy.  We had a few advance copies with us, but the full shipment should be here very soon – so stay tuned!  April 18th – I can’t wait!

Do you remember the story a few weeks back about the red bird and the rainbow?  Well, to greet us on our return home, the red bird was waiting and I said, “All we need is a rainbow.”  A few minutes later, I was getting ready to go to work when Brenda called me to come and look at something.  Guess what?   There was a little rainbow on the entrance into the hallway.  Wow!  We felt so blessed.  How cool is that?  Thank You, God.  I’ve heard that red birds and rainbows are supposed to be good signs and you know how my little mind works…give me a little rope and I might skip it but give me a little hope and watch me run.  This record is a smash!

And last but not least, Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter on Sunday!!  I am so thankful to know all of you who have touched my life.  Let’s celebrate together this Easter the resurrection of Jesus and His most sacred gift of love for everyone who chooses to be adopted into His family.  As God’s children, we are joint heirs with Christ, and He lives in the hearts of Christians everywhere.  Hallelujah!

Until next week…stay healthy, love others, make every day beautiful, and be happy.

Love, love, love,
Donna
