Wow!  Well, here it is Friday again, and you know what that means.  I get to talk to my Friday Follies Team.  So, hey you guys!  How are you?  I hope you’re well and happy and safe and not suffering from some of the allergies the change of season may be trying to give us.  And I want to thank you all for your wonderful words of encouragement about my new song, “You Can Count on Me.”  I value your opinion, and I know you have great taste in music.  Ha Ha.

Many of you have asked me to keep you informed on anything new, so…I have some interviews scheduled about my new song.  On Wednesday, I was interviewed by the handsome, famous Scott Wikle from Michigan.  He is such a nice guy, and he said he loves You Can Count on Me and will play it.  Scott has a VERY popular show.  We’ll let you know as soon as we have an airdate.  We talked about a lot of things – the new song and what inspired it, my music career so far, my songwriting and past hits, the books and greeting cards I’ve written for Blue Mountain Arts, my new novel to be released soon called HEARTACHES AND MIND STORMS.  We discussed health issues and diet concerns for those who want to improve their general well-being.  It was about a 20-30 minute interview.  I really appreciate Scott for having me on his show called My Kind of Country.  He’s definitely one of the good guys.

Another reason I’m excited is that we will be working with a wonderful pr firm headed by Jennifer Herron who is going to be keeping me busy.  I will also be doing an interview on RFD-TV on Friday, April 25th at noon.  On June 7th, I will be signing autographs at a meet and greet session from 5 pm to 6 pm at the “Country With Heart” benefit hosted and founded by singer/songwriter Bobby Marquez and emceed by our own award-winning publicist Miss Jennifer.  Although I won’t be performing, there is a great line-up of artists like John Conlee, Charlie McCoy, Rex Allen Jr., Jason Coleman, Karen Staley, Mandy Barnette, Runaway June, and Rockland Road.  There will be a silent auction in which artists are donating items to help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  I will be giving a pair of animal print high-heel boots (size 6 ½) and a Mary Frances purse that coordinates very stylishly with the boots.  I may also contribute something else, if I can find the time to go through my closet again.  Remember, this all happens Saturday, June 7, 5-9 pm at Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theatre.  Hope to see some of you guys there.  It should be a lot of fun.

Someone asked me a question concerning a former post that I’ll answer now since it concerns Good Friday, and today is Good Friday a few years later…

“I remember reading a wonderful post on your blog some time ago about ‘popcorn wishes’ and something about growing old takes a long time – it really stuck with me.  Unfortunately, I can’t remember all the details and was wondering if you might be able to share it again or point me to where I might find it?  I’d like to revisit it.  Obviously, it left a lasting impression on my heart.  Thank you for any help you can give me.  Keep rocking those great songs, Donna.”

It’s nice to hear when something I write touches your heart, so thank you.  The post you’re referring to is from April 7, 2023:

I “follied” my heart and wrote this poem for you:

I sent you popcorn wishes, daydreams off the beaten path, soft words and gentle hugs of friendship to let you know I care.

I prayed prayers for you to find answers to questions you may have about life, your health, your family and anything else that you’re concerned about. I prayed that you would walk in God’s perfect will for your life.

I thanked God for everyone of you and wished you everything you wish for in the quiet, secret and deepest part of your being.

Amid the clutter and confusion in this crazy mixed up world, remember how very special you are to God because each one of you is His child, and always remember and be thankful for how special He is to you

Growing up is time consuming, and there’s no book for how to do it except The New Testament. We have to find our own way as we renew our minds with God’s Word. Be sure to talk to God a lot. He’s a God of love, so just love Him and don’t go anywhere without Him. He’s your mighty shield of armor and your shelter from the storms in life. He’s your Refuge, your Confidante, your Helper, your Protector, and your Savior. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.

There’s a lot of hate going around now. If you find a speck of it trying to sneak up on you, get rid of it immediately. It’s the most negative and destructive energy there is. It’s dark, and it eats up the heart of the person who owns it. Don’t allow it to come inside. Only the God kind of love can change it.

You are God’s children, and we are made in His image according to His Word. I believe in the integrity of God’s Word. I know God would not lie to us, and He told us the truth when He said Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and remember He’s our one-way ticket to heaven. We should feel so grateful and so blessed that we serve such a Loving and Mighty God!

Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter!  Jesus is alive!  I am truly blessed to the bone and I hope you are too!  Love you all!

Love,

Donna
