Hey Friday Followers, or better known as the coolest of cool, the smartest of smart, and my favorite friends on the planet. I wish for you everything you need, want, and dream about! I know that’s a lot, but why not ask for the best of every thing for the most special people on our planet.
First, I want to recommend that you all go see the Elvis movie, EPIC: ELVIS PRESLEY IN CONCERT. It is so great. Especially you Elvis fans – and who’s not? It is great from start to finish. They filmed it when he was so young – “skinny minny perfect” – truly wonderful in every way. Trust me. You won’t regret it. You’ll be entertained like you’ve never been before. It will take you away for every how long it lasts! Oh, it’s so good. I highly recommend it. You will enjoy it so much.
On another note, for those of you who are trying to change something that seems to have a hold on you, like eating mindlessly or being too negative, I encourage you to read my book HEARTACHES & MIND STORMS. It will help you to monitor bad habits and create more positive routines. There’s also a chart included so you can see what you’re doing or not doing that will guide you toward reaching some of your goals. It will help you to get off the train of being lost in the shuffle and just doing whatever. I wrote it for those of us who sometimes feel as though we know what to do but don’t get around to doing it. While the book is a novel – meaning it’s FICTION – there are so many life lessons you can identify with.
Next to putting God first in every serious situation about life, a healthy diet is the most important thing you can do to maintain life better.
1. Since the body is about 80% water, how should that affect our daily intake of water? This one is especially hard but so important and maybe that’s where the 8 glasses a day came from.
2. It would seem that live foods would maintain life better. Right? So how many fresh fruits and veggies do you eat? Remember fruits are cleansers and veggies are builders. We need them both.
3. What proportion of your diet is “junk” food?
4. Also, are you doing things that hurt the body, like smoking, drinking, or even just wasting your time? At some point, you need to evaluate whether the risk of satisfying a habit is worth the result you’re getting.
5. And just so you know, we are often trying to teach what we’re trying to learn ourselves. Just saying.
Premise for this discussion: I want the people I love – YOU – to be healthy and happy and comfortable, not overweight or underweight. The reason I stress diet so much is that we can control our health to a great extent based on what we eat. First we need to understand the importance of diet. It can make you healthier or unhealthier and affect the quality of your life. It affects your sleep patterns, your daily focus, and your well-being. We should honor our bodies. They’re the only one we will ever get! We can’t just take life for granted. The train doesn’t guide itself.
Love,
Donna
P.S. Jack Boliver asked me about ending my show with “Forever Young.” I don’t know where I first heard “Forever Young.” I just knew it would be a good show closer for me. I loved what it said and the thoughts the message would have with the audience.
