Hey Everybody and Happy Friday Follies!  Thanks for being here.  I’m wishing you everything you wish for and all the “happy” your hearts can hold, the best health, decorated with warm colors of peace and contentment, and a whole lot of love.  I hope you’re keeping your spirit, mind, and body in sync, along with maintaining an absence of conflict and negativity totally out of sight.  I wish you clarity about any unsettled issues, but today, let’s talk about your blessings because sometimes it’s easy to take them for granted.

Besides being fortunate to be alive and to have your health and family and friends, we have yesterday to learn from, today as a present, and the ability to hope and pray and make plans for tomorrow.  But think about these other treasures God has given us also…

Are you kind and loving and why do I ask?  Because we reap what we sow.  It’s a conditional arrangement.  So if you’re not happy with what you’re getting, examine what you’re giving and doing.  If you want someone or others to be kind and loving to you, are you being kind and loving to them?  Are you sure?  If there’s loneliness in your spirit, have you tried to develop your spirit by reading especially the NEW TESTAMENT on a regular schedule and actually studying even if just a little bit?  Are you drawing closer to God?

Also, here are some questions to ponder…If you’re not happy with yourself, are you comfortable in your own skin most of the time?  How’s your blood pressure?  Do you often have to deal with conflict between your heart and mind?  Are you satisfied enough to say “No” without feeling obligated to give 35 reasons why?  Or do you often feel like you owe someone an explanation just for not wanting to do what they ask?  Have you accepted yourself and are you satisfied that you’re okay just as you are?  Or are these some issues that you may need to consider changing?  Are you too resistant to see something you think you could improve if you’d just try harder?  Do you allow yourself to carry hurt feelings without analyzing the reason or positive things you could possibly do that would allow you to change your mind and/or feelings?  Do you ever go “against the grain” and seek a totally unselfish solution to a problem in a relationship, or are you more likely to avoid or run from the situation?  Do you ever take the “higher” ground?  Do you ever not talk about something that maybe could improve a relationship and just keep on burying it deeper and deeper?  Do you often think of things you could do for others but more often don’t get around to doing them?

Well, I’ve got a lot of work to do, so that’s all for now.  Keep your sunny side up and dream big.  This is your life.  Take care of it – all of it!  Keep hope alive and listen to your heart.  That’s where the stuff that matters sleeps just waiting to be awakened.

Love, love, love,

Donna

P.S.  For those of you who will be in the Nashville area on November 1st, I am so excited to be a part of the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Songwriter Session series.    I will be talking about some of my favorite songs I’ve written, and Lauren Mascitti will be performing them.  It will be a fun afternoon.
