Hi You Guys!

Well, this is the first Friday Follies after Christmas, and I hope you’re still celebrating the meaning of this special holiday and loving on purpose everyone who comes your way, whether you feel like it or not.  That’s what the Bible kind of love is – love on purpose – huh?  Sound familiar?

I want to tell you about someone who illustrates this love-on-purpose kind of love, and she happens to be my niece.  Her name is Marisa, and she works the night shift at the hospital.  I’m so impressed by the way she gives away friendliness like we all should.  She makes people feel comfortable when they share what they’re calling about.  They will tell her what physical problems they’re having.  She asks them questions that help her to clearly understand so she can tell the doctor in as much detail as possible pertinent information to get the most help for the patient.  She refuses to be negative and actually tells them that she’s sorry they’re experiencing whatever they’re going through.  Her words have a positive effect on the people she’s talking to.

She’s not cold and distant like some people in the medical field can be sometimes.  When you’re miserable and don’t know what’s going on in your body, you get afraid and just need someone who can help allay your fears and display a little compassion and concern.  Marisa genuinely shares their suffering.  I believe people respond to her because she has a unique way of showing that she really cares.  She listens and doesn’t just look at the clock and wait to talk.  I am so proud of her example and I aspire to be more like her.  May we all give the gifts of kindness, acceptance, true support, and love to all so we can reap the joyful benefit that nourishes our heart space.

I love you guys so much!  Happy Everything in the new year.

Love,

Donna
