Happy Friday Follies on this October 25th, 2024!
What a fun week we’ve had here in Nashville! I wish you all could have been here. This group shot represents some of the wonderful friends and fans who came from different parts of our great country to inform and influence people to try to get me inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. They stood out together in our beautiful October weather here in Music City around the CMA Building holding up signs and a huge stand-up picture of me that Curtis Cox had made.
This is the second year they have done this for several days at a time. From Nevada, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Arizona, Missouri, California, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Tennessee, these sweet friends brought written material to hand out, bumper stickers to give away, and hand-painted cookies with my picture and other related sayings like from my Heart Hug, “Love on Purpose.”
I want to thank Linda and Brenda for the many things that both of you do to keep us connected and inspired. I was told that many people in the fan club are writing letters to support this campaign and raising awareness to accomplish this goal. Plus I have recently learned that there are petitions being submitted to the CMA for their review. Thank you Pam & Dan DelSontro for collecting 1700 signatures and Vonnie Watson for collecting 558 signatures. Vonnie has been the chief coordinator of these events.
You are so awesome, and I’m fortunate to have you in my life. My most sincere wish is that you are perfectly healthy and happy, and I want you to know how deeply appreciative I am for your kindness and dedication. It is both humbling and heart-warming, and I thank you for your friendship and support.
You are all beyond amazing! I love you so much!
